GRANTS MANAGER

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc has an immediate opening for a Grant Manager. This is a part-time, 32 hours per week position.

General Qualifications: Bachelors’ Degree in English or related field; A minimum of 3 years of grant writing and grants management experience; working knowledge of Excel and MS Word; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills; strong communication skills, both verbal and written; previous experience in non-profit environment. Must work well in a team environment.

Specific Responsibilities: Writing and submissions of new and renewal grants. Work with the Executive, Finance and Program Directors with all aspects of grants and budgets. Research new grant opportunities, maintain registration with funder information sources and federal government contracting agencies. Research and maintain all demographic, statistical, subject and program information pertaining to grant submission. Responsible for grant contract approval process. Communication with funding sources regarding agency grants. Coordinate and collaborate with Program Directors and Managers on required grant reporting. Collate and submit funding reports. Schedule quarterly budget meetings with Program Directors and Finance Director relating to program expenditures, budget restraints and staff hours chargeable to grants. Assist in preparation for annual audit. Assist the Finance Director in the financial review of sub-grantees. Review and edit all agency written information to ensure accuracy and representation of agency mission and values. Attend all internal and external meetings as assigned. Additional duties as assigned.

YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES SPECIALIST

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc has an immediate opening for a Youth and Family Services Specialist. This is a 20 hour per week flexible position and may include evenings and weekends. Candidates will hold a Masters in Social Work or related field. License preferred. A minimum of two years of clinical experience with children, adolescents, and families in individual, family and group modalities. The successful candidate must have demonstrated cultural competence, knowledge of community resources and an understanding of family systems and social issues impacting youth and families. Must work well in a team environment. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential. Candidates must be physically able to meet the demands of the position, have a valid CT driver’s license, clean background checks and motor vehicle record. Bilingual is desirable but not mandatory. This is a grant-funded position. Compensation is commensurate with experience and licensing.

CASE MANAGER FOR COMMUNITY HOUSING ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. has an immediate opening for a case manager for our Community Housing Assistance Program. This is a contractual long-term per diem position for the provision of case management services for young adults. Skill set includes teaching and reinforcing life skills and assistance with community linkages for development of natural supports. The ability to work professionally with others, as well as autonomously is required. Candidates must have Bachelor’s Degree in a closely related field (Social Work, Secondary Education, Counseling, etc.) and a minimum of two years of experience working with youth. Must possess excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and writing skills, time management and computer skills are all required. Bilingual is a plus but not mandatory. Candidates must have a flexible weekday schedule and a current CT Driver’s License, automobile insurance and a reliable vehicle. Clean DCF, background and motor vehicle checks are required.

FULL TIME CT LICENSED REGISTERED NURSE

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. is seeking a full time CT Licensed Registered Nurse for our Short-term Family Integration Treatment Program. The S-FIT program provides a short-term, family-centered setting for children and adolescents ages 12-17 as alternatives to psychiatric hospitalization, placement in a congregate care setting and/or disruption in existing home. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience working with youth and adolescents and the ability to work with individuals with moderate behavioral health problems. Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the youth and families served through this program. Must have knowledge of diverse cultural groups and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team; Knowledge of medical care coordination is a must. Planning and organizational skills; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Ability to communicate effectively in a courteous and professional manner; Ability to maintain accurate medical records and related information; Candidates must be physically able to meet the demands of the position. Must pass Department of Children and Families and criminal background checks and have valid CT driver’s license. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

FULL TIME SOCIAL WORKER, LCSW

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Full Time Social Worker. This is a 40 hour per week flexible position and will include some evenings and weekends. Candidates will hold a CT license in Clinical Social Work, Professional Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy, or a Masters Degree and will obtain a CT license within six months of start date. The ideal candidate will be experienced in short term intensive family therapy as well as a wide range of behavioral and clinical interventions, assessments, service plans; crisis de-escalation and will have certifications in PMT, CPR, First Aid and medication administration. Candidates must be physically able to meet the demands of the position, have a valid CT driver’s license, clean background checks and motor vehicle record. Compensation is commensurate with experience and licensing.

SUMMER YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM FACILITATOR

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. is seeking a Summer Youth Employment Program Facilitator for our E-Program to train youth in the implementation of basic and advanced building skills. This individual will be responsible for supervising and facilitating Summer Youth Employment Program that will provide work-based learning opportunities through training in task-oriented, hands-on work skills relating to building and trades.
Minimum of an Associate’s Degree with equivalent summer youth employment experience; Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Essential functions of the positions include training and review of participant’s basic responsibilities. Ensuring that participants: actively participate in a variety of opportunities and activities; receive supervision, respect, and recognition for their efforts; Oversight of time tracking for participants and provide information to Program Supervisor; Ensuring safety, positive values and ethical behavior during programming; The ideal candidates must have ability to deal effectively with participants, including disciplinary issues; the ability to work professionally with others is required. Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and written skills, and computer proficiency are all required. Bilingual is desirable but not mandatory. Transportation may be required, a current CT Driver’s License, clean DCF, background and driving record checks are required.

First Shift Saturday-Sunday 6:00 AM-2:00 PM

Two Positions on Second Shift Saturday-Sunday 2:00 PM-10:00 PM

Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have no less than 2 years experience in the delivery of child welfare services. Experience providing direct services to diverse population who present with challenging behavior preferred, demonstrated ability and knowledge of the cultural, linguistic or experiential backgrounds of the children to be served and multi-lingual capabilities that are relevant to children served. Must meet the physical demands of the position; must be able to bend, sit, and stand for periods of time; manage stairs; run/walk quickly; must be able to lift 50 pounds. Each worker needs to be successfully trained in Physical and Psychological Management Training. Medication Administration Certified, CPR/ First Aid and bilingual a plus. Must pass DCF and Police checks, have a current CT Driver’s License and a clean motor vehicle record. Hourly Rate is commensurate with experience.
