FULL TIME CT LICENSED REGISTERED NURSE

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. is seeking a full time CT Licensed Registered Nurse for our Short-term Family Integration Treatment Program. The S-FIT program provides a short-term, family-centered setting for children and adolescents ages 12-17 as alternatives to psychiatric hospitalization, placement in a congregate care setting and/or disruption in existing home. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience working with youth and adolescents and the ability to work with individuals with moderate behavioral health problems. Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the youth and families served through this program. Must have knowledge of diverse cultural groups and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team; Knowledge of medical care coordination is a must. Planning and organizational skills; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Ability to communicate effectively in a courteous and professional manner; Ability to maintain accurate medical records and related information; Candidates must be physically able to meet the demands of the position. Must pass Department of Children and Families and criminal background checks and have valid CT driver’s license. Compensation is commensurate with experience.

FULL TIME SOCIAL WORKER, LCSW

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Full Time Social Worker. This is a 40 hour per week flexible position and will include some evenings and weekends. Candidates will hold a CT license in Clinical Social Work, Professional Counseling or Marriage and Family Therapy, or a Masters Degree and will obtain a CT license within six months of start date. The ideal candidate will be experienced in short term intensive family therapy as well as a wide range of behavioral and clinical interventions, assessments, service plans; crisis de-escalation and will have certifications in PMT, CPR, First Aid and medication administration. Candidates must be physically able to meet the demands of the position, have a valid CT driver’s license, clean background checks and motor vehicle record. Compensation is commensurate with experience and licensing.

PART TIME JUVENILE REVIEW BOARD CASE MANAGER

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. is seeking a part time (20 hours) Case Manager to provide case management services for the Waterbury Juvenile Review Board. This is a pivotal position in providing support to participants. Candidates must have Bachelor’s Degree in a closely related field (Human Services, Criminal Justice, Counseling, etc.) with relevant past experience and training in working with at- risk youth and family issues and knowledge of community. Skill set includes the ability to maintain regular contact with referral sources, provide assessment, and the arrangement, coordination, and provision and monitoring of services to meet the needs of referred individuals and families, and assistance with community linkages for supports. Candidates must have experience in data collection and report preparation. The ability to work professionally with others, as well as autonomously is required. Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and written skills, and computer proficiency are all required. Candidates must have a flexible schedule. Bilingual is desirable but not mandatory. Transportation may be required, a current CT Driver’s License, automobile insurance and a reliable vehicle is a must. Clean DCF, background and driving record checks are required. Hourly compensation will be commensurate with experience. This is a grant funded position.

SUMMER CAMP DIRECTOR

The Camp Director is responsible for supervising and maintaining Kiwanis Camp off site and within the Agency. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, in a human service or related field with previous camp experience and supervisory skills. Skill set includes attention to detail and the ability to ensure safety, positive values and ethical behavior at camp. Director will be required to develop curriculum for 8 week sessions of camp, including daily schedules. A strong respect for and understanding of diversity issues is required. Must have ability to oversee staff and deal effectively with participants and ensure all licensing and public health requirements are upheld. Candidates must have experience in data collection and report preparation. The ability to work professionally with others is required. Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and written skills, and computer proficiency are all required. Candidates must have CPR/First Aid certification. Bilingual is desirable but not mandatory. Transportation may be required, a current CT Driver’s License, automobile insurance and a reliable vehicle is a must. SUMMER CAMP LIFEGUARD

This position is Responsible for supervising and maintaining waterfront at Kiwanis Camp. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Must be 21 with a current CPR/AED for Lifeguards Certificate as well as Lifeguard/First Aid Certificate. Assist in the development of the curriculum for the waterfront of Kiwanis camp, including daily schedules. Skill set includes attention to detail and the ability to ensure safety at camp. A strong respect for and understanding of diversity issues is required. Must have ability to oversee staff and deal effectively with participants and ensure all licensing and public health requirements are upheld. The ability to work professionally with others is required. Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and written skills to help ensure all paper work including applications, health records and campership forms are complete. Bilingual is desirable but not mandatory. Transportation may be required, a current CT Driver’s License, automobile insurance and a reliable vehicle is a must. Clean DCF, background and driving record checks are required.

First Shift Saturday-Sunday 6:00 AM-2:00 PM

Two Positions on Second Shift Saturday-Sunday 2:00 PM-10:00 PM

Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have no less than 2 years experience in the delivery of child welfare services. Experience providing direct services to diverse population who present with challenging behavior preferred, demonstrated ability and knowledge of the cultural, linguistic or experiential backgrounds of the children to be served and multi-lingual capabilities that are relevant to children served. Must meet the physical demands of the position; must be able to bend, sit, and stand for periods of time; manage stairs; run/walk quickly; must be able to lift 50 pounds. Each worker needs to be successfully trained in Physical and Psychological Management Training. Medication Administration Certified, CPR/ First Aid and bilingual a plus. Must pass DCF and Police checks, have a current CT Driver’s License and a clean motor vehicle record. Hourly Rate is commensurate with experience.
