EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. is seeking an Executive Director to lead our non-profit organization in its commitment to serving children and youth in our community, and with the ability to support and convey our mission and strategic future. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Social Work /Human Service or related discipline with relevant experience in the non-profit field, and a minimum of ten years of management and leadership experience with strong organizational abilities. We are looking for a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and competence in financial management, strategic planning, and the demonstrated ability to maintain and build collaborative relationships on local and state-wide levels. Working knowledge of Waterbury and the surrounding area is desirable. Excellent verbal and written skills and computer proficiency are required. This is a full time position with non-traditional working hours. Salary and Benefits are negotiable.

SCHOOL READINESS VAN DRIVER

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Part Time Van Driver for our School Readiness Program, Monday-Friday; three and one half hours per day, 10:00-12:00 and 1:30-3:00. Ideal candidates must meet the physical demands of the position; must be able to lift 50 pounds; and will have prior experience working with small children. Candidate must be a minimum of 21 years of age and possess a High School Diploma, a valid Connecticut Drivers License, and a clean driving record. Employment is contingent upon clean background, DCF and Police checks. Bilingual is a plus but not mandatory. This position follows Waterbury Public School year calendar, which includes holidays, winter and spring recess, and snow days.

DIRECT CARE POSITION

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. has opening for a position at our DCF funded Safe Home, a short-term residential home for children. Lead Child Development Specialist Second Shift Saturday-Sunday 2:00 PM-10:00 PM. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and have no less than 2 years experience in the delivery of child welfare services. Experience providing direct services to diverse population who present with challenging behavior preferred, demonstrated ability and competence in supervising staff; knowledge of the cultural, linguistic or experiential backgrounds of the children to be served and multi-lingual capabilities that are relevant to children served. The ideal candidate must meet the physical demands of the position; must be able to bend, sit, and stand for periods of time; manage stairs; run/walk quickly; must be able to lift 50 pounds. Each worker needs to be successfully trained in Physical and Psychological Management Training. Medication Administration Certified, CPR/ First Aid and bilingual a plus. Must pass DCF and Police checks, have a clean motor vehicle record. Hourly Rate is commensurate with experience.

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. has four openings for a Direct Care positions at our DCF funded Safe Home, a short-term residential home and respite center for children. Two Child Development Specialists for First Shift Saturday-Sunday 6:00 AM-2:00 PM and Two Child Development Specialists for Second Shift Saturday-Sunday 6:00 AM-2:00 PM Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have no less than 2 years experience in the delivery of child welfare services. CHILD DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST PER DIEM

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. has openings for per diem positions all shifts for Direct Care Staff for our Safe Home program. Our Safe Home/Rainbow House is a short-term residential home for abused and/or neglected children ages 6 -13 placed by Department of Children and Families. Direct Care Staff are responsible for the supervision, teaching and care of children in residence. Ideal candidates must meet the physical demands of the position; must be able to bend, sit, and stand for periods of time; manage stairs; run/walk quickly after a child; must be able to lift 50 pounds; have a minimum of two years experience working with children with emotional, social and/or behavioral issues; flexibility with work schedule. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Medication Administration Certified, CPR/ First Aid and bilingual a plus. Must pass DCF and Police checks, have current CT Drivers License, clean driving record and insurance. Hourly Rate, commensurate with experience.
