DIRECT CARE POSITIONS

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. has four openings for Direct Care positions at our DCF funded Safe Home, a short-term residential home and respite center for children. Two Child Development Specialists for First Shift Saturday-Sunday 6:00 AM-2:00 PM and Two Child Development Specialists for Second Shift Saturday-Sunday 2:00 PM-10:00 PM. Qualifications: Ideal candidate will have no less than 2 years experience in the delivery of child welfare services. Experience providing direct services to diverse population who present with challenging behavior preferred, demonstrated ability and knowledge of the cultural, linguistic or experiential backgrounds of the children to be served and multi-lingual capabilities that are relevant to children served. Must meet the physical demands of the position; must be able to bend, sit, and stand for periods of time; manage stairs; run/walk quickly; must be able to lift 50 pounds. Each worker needs to be successfully trained in Physical and Psychological Management Training. Medication Administration Certified, CPR/ First Aid and bilingual a plus. Must pass DCF and Police checks, have a clean motor vehicle record. Hourly Rate is commensurate with experience.

LEAD DIRECT CARE POSITIONS

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. has 2 open positions at our DCF funded Safe Home, a short-term residential home for children. Lead Child Development Specialist First Shift Saturday-Sunday 6:00 AM-2:00 PM and Lead Child Development Specialist Second Shift Saturday-Sunday 2:00 PM-10:00 PM. JUVENILE REVIEW BOARD CASE MANAGER

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. is seeking a full time (35 hours) Case Manager to provide case management services for the Waterbury Juvenile Review Board. This is a pivotal position in providing support to participants. Candidates must have Bachelor’s Degree in a closely related field (Human Services, Criminal Justice, Counseling, etc.) with relevant past experience and training in working with at- risk youth and family issues and knowledge of community. Skill set includes the ability to maintain regular contact with referral sources, provide assessment, and the arrangement, coordination, and provision and monitoring of services to meet the needs of referred individuals and families, and assistance with community linkages for supports. Candidates must have experience in data collection and report preparation. The ability to work professionally with others, as well as autonomously is required. Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational and written skills, and computer proficiency are all required. Candidates must have a flexible schedule. Bilingual is desirable but not mandatory. Transportation may be required, a current CT Driver’s License, automobile insurance and a reliable vehicle is a must. Clean DCF, background and driving record checks are required. Hourly compensation will be commensurate with experience. This is a grant funded position

PART-TIME 4-H MENTORING PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Waterbury Youth Service System, Inc. is seeking a part time professional to coordinate our 4-H Mentoring Program. Candidates will have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a related field and relevant experience and training in at- risk youth and family issues/needs. Past experience in the implementation and oversight of programming, and the ability to ensure participant’s active participation in a variety of opportunities and activities is desired. Candidates will possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. Ideal candidates will possess excellent public speaking skills. The ability to work professionally with others, as well as autonomously is required. Candidates must have experience in data collection and report preparation. Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills, and computer proficiency are all required. Candidates must have a flexible schedule and the ability to travel.
