Excellence In Youth Awards
"Good character is more to be praised than outstanding talent. Most talents are, to some extent, a gift. Good character, by contrast, is not given to us. We have to build it piece by piece -- by thought, choice, courage & determination." -- John Luther
The Excellence In Youth Awards is a very special annual event that recognizes youth who have demonstrated outstanding character. Over 100 youth were nominated by local schools in our five “Character” categories: Citizenship, Community Service, Good Samaritan, Initiative & Leadership. A ceremony was held at The Village At East Farms on May 21st to celebrate with the 19 winners & their guests. We would like to thank the American Savings Foundation for its generosity in sponsoring the event again this year & the Village At East Farms for opening up their Community Room & providing refreshments for our celebration. We would also like to thank Timexpo for giving each winner a beautiful watch. |
